I’ve been feeling kind of numb to the news today and I can’t put my finger on why. Maybe it’s denial, or it all just hasn’t sunk in yet. Or maybe I don’t want to think about it and I’m just too good at distracting myself.
It’s feeling like we’re on the precipice of (at least) 4 more years of scandal and regression and “can you believe what Trump did/said today???”
I’m not trying to minimize that but I think I’m already finding the prospect exhausting and I’d rather just disengage for now.

Well, I think it might be time for someone to build a… solid_attributes gem? 🙈

Kredis but... without Redis? · Issue #155 · rails/kredis

It seems to me that part of the goal with Rails 8 is to allow full-fledged web apps with fewer external dependencies, one of which is Redis. I have no idea of the technical feasibility of this, but...

It’s a shame there aren’t more good controller-enabled games for iOS, especially indie games. Hades (not behind a Netflix subscription plz), Hollow Knight, Animal Well… these would all be insta-buys for me. The hardware is plenty capable of running these games, and the potential audience is massive, so what gives?
I can only assume porting to iOS is very difficult

#askatp how is this OK by the App Store rules? https://apps.apple.com/us/app/hades-netflix/id6450063142

You need a Netflix subscription to play the game, so it’s a useless app without an external subscription (something I thought they prohibited). It almost feels like Netflix’s own App Store within the App Store? Anyway, I’m confused how this is allowed based on what I know from their rules/has been discussed on the show

Good god Balatro is addicting 😆
Took me a minute to get the hang of it but I’m all in now
Flying with kids is a life altering experience. Now when I’m traveling solo and there’s a screaming kid, the only thing I feel is a sense of deep gratitude that I’m not their parent, I can just sit there with my noise cancelling headphones and watch my movie. Perspective is everything.
@ivory some feedback: the amount of zoom you get from double tapping on a photo feels… much higher than desired/is standard in iOS apps I’ve used. Could this be toned down possibly?
I’m still pissed at Elon for ruining twitter. Not that it was perfect, but it was at least one singular place. Now there are 4 (at least) twitter-like platforms someone *might* be on. And the “cross post everywhere” stuff just makes everything feel so disconnected and inauthentic. Such a shame

This has to be the most insane use of scroll jacking I’ve ever seen. Thanks I hate it

Trump Claims Harris’s Rallies Are Smaller. We Counted.

I enjoyed Alien Romulus. Felt like a great throwback/homage to the original Alien, which is an all-timer for me. And I like that the franchise has continued to explore the dynamics between humans and their AI counterparts. This one went in some new directions there, which I liked.

Leaned pretty heavily on gore for scares and shock value though, which I was less a fan of.
