@atpfm #AskATP Upgrading my wife's camera for shooting our kid's youth baseball games. Beginner shooter, close sideline position, daytime only, shoot-and-share JPGs.

Leaning Canon R10 + RF-S 55-210mm two-lens kit (~$1,379 new) for the JPEG color, light weight, and beginner-friendly AF. Sony a6400 + 70-350mm G is the alternative but heavier and more expensive.

I have an Olympus E-M10 on @caseyliss’s recommendation. It works OK but it’s AF is too slow for youth sports.
Any thoughts?

They have desktops that can allegedly run upto
1T parameter models locally with 768GB RAM !

Only Apple Silicon Mac Pro can compete with that right ? #askatp

@atpfm #askatp Since the Apple silicon transition, I’ve stopped hearing much about/paying attention to what’s going on with x86 or other ARM. How close are the others to catching up with the M5 as a mainstream chip? How far ahead are the biggest processors? I.e. are the performance curves such that the M Max is converging on the top performers? ATP has covered the huge GPU gap regularly, but I feel much fuzzier on CPU. Thanks, guys.

Fellow Apple nerds please help!

I set the Digital Crown on my AirPods Max to increase volume by rotating "front to back" (same as a normal volume knob if it was horizontal), but the direction is randomly flipping as I'm using my Mac. No restarts or disconnects, I'll just randomly find it's changed as I blast my ears or suddenly can't hear.

Still can't find any consistent cause. On 15.7.4 & it's happened in Logic Pro, PlexAmp, Apple Music, Safari, Steam...

Why do you think (everybody in our 🫧 ) disapproves of LLM generated images and calling it theft from artists, but on the other hand adopting LLM coding tools?
I've always seen programming as an art form myself and every time I see people praising the help of these tools (partial usage or full vibe coding) I'm getting really disappointed and sad. It seems almost everybody I looked up to in our community, just rolls with it, although being vocal about other LLM-affected art forms. #askatp

#askatp I was considering buying the MacBook Neo but then wondered what I could get used in the same price point. I asked my LLM of choice this question and got the MacBook Pro M1 or M1 Pro for an answer. Assuming my budget is $600-$700 would you recommend the MacBook Pro M1 Pro 14” in 2026? For context I am a live sound engineer and I would use it to record and edit audio primarily, maybe some light video editing.

The web and youtube are flooded with tutorials and resources, but it’s hard to tell which one are worth my time. Do you have any recommendations for starters? What are the knowledge bases that you use on a daily basis during development (e.g. documentation on the framework, swift and swiftui, etc.)?

Even though I'm a long time Mac user, I've come around to using this approach sometimes (since you can do it with your keyboard and don't need something like Yoink to be a temporary holding place)

#AskATP When (if?) you collaborate on a Markdown document, how do you do it? Are there any 'native' collaborative Markdown editors? If not, or in preference, would you recommend Google Docs (with its rudimentary Markdown import & export), or a Git repo, or something else?

I believe your show notes are in Google Docs? But as native Google Docs, not a proxy for Markdown or some other file format?
