Why Germany Is Paying €1 Million to Make #KDE Bulletproof (Hint: It’s Not About #Linux Fans)

Being a feminist doesn't mean I don't care about men who are abused by women. People who know me well, as well as longtime followers should know that fact. I've posted publicly about how my brothers & some men friends have suffered abuse by women. I've posted publicly about how abused men need & deserve support; not be mocked/laughed at & told to just "Be a man!". I've posted publicly about how many men are laughed at, treated horribly when they do try to report SA or other abuses by women. I don't support abuse on anyone - most folks know that about me. I'm clarifying here now, so there's no misunderstandings, going forward.
All that said - I won't try to center women on posts where men are talking about their personal experiences with being vulnerable & then abused by women. It's not the time/my space to try to compare who has it worse. That's not respectful of their personal experience/POV post. I won't invade their online space like that. It's a matter of mutual respect. I would appreciate the same respect when I post about women's issues, from a woman's POV.
*I also understand trauma responses well. Which is why I give berth, when I know folks are engaging in traumatic responses & don't take it personally. It's not about me.*
America is a gay nation.
We are secular nation.
We are a Black nation.
We are a urban nation.
We are a transgender nation.
We are a Muslim nation.
We are a nation of women, and of immigrants who don't speak English with ... outfits.
The girl with the blue hair. The one some of ya'll don't like so much because of all of her opinions and how she just won't be quiet?
She was made in America. She is as much a part of the United States as the rest of ya'll.
I can’t think of another time when software devs had to be •forced• en masse to use a new technology that was supposed to help them. Usually we’re kind of stupid for the shiny new things: jamming them in when they solve nothing, doing unnecessary rewrites just to use the new hotness because it’s so cool and fun. Usually we’re the one trying to shove it down mgmt’s throat (or sneak it by them) rather than the reverse.
But not this time.

The open nature of fediverse platforms should be more celebrated.
Twitter, Reddit, Instagram and many more platforms closed off API access, and shut out 3rd party developers to monetize every available surface.
Meanwhile, the fediverse is thriving with app developers creating experiences outside of official apps, and everyone loves that.
That is freedom.
We can't take it for granted.
