Just a shocking number of people donโ€™t even know the 2022 bivalent boosters โ€ขexistโ€ข.

Folks, there are newly formulated vaccines as of this fall.

If you got your last before Sep / very late Aug, you should get a new booster.

Itโ€™s available for kids 5 and up.

Itโ€™s free.

It will protect you โ€ขโ€ขmuchโ€ขโ€ข better against the newest variants, which are hospitalizing people en masse.

Tell your less-online-than-you family, friends, neighbors. Publicity has been terrible.

It's across most of the planet now. Delving into why, what to expect, and what we can do about it.

Ground Truths

@dave @Bam @thetitanborn

1) Don't ask Black users to CW discussions of their own racism.

2) Don't be on a server where mods mistreat Black folk.

3) Support the mods on your own server, financially and otherwise.

4) Don't engage with sea lions that say "Mistreatment? Here? prove it!" There have been enough threads shared on Black folk receiving racism. Individually convincing each one is exhausting, and expecting that is a tactic of bad faith actors.

My wife blames the dog for all the missing socks. Maybe sheโ€™s not wrong?

Take a look overseas at #London.

The Cycle Response Unit of the Ambulance Service arrives faster than motorized ambulancesโ€”6 minutes from call to arrival on average.

Ugh, this is why I always buy the same pairs of plain white socks; so at the end of laundry day, I have, at most, one lone unmatched sock (thereโ€™s always one). Where the hell did the other socks go? ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝ
I am a terrible person and I should be stopped: a series.

๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿป"A strike that's too effective, is bad for the economy. The government must step in to discourage this strike! A labor market that's too good for employees, is bad for the economy. The government must step in to weaken that labor market and drive up unemployment! Wait... did I just say all that out loud?! I mean... no fair! You're taking me out of context! Of course it sounds bad when you say it like that!"

And this is the democrats! ๐Ÿคก

@mekkaokereke @joseph fundamentally, a big problem with politics in the Anglozone seems to be that the mainstream left have, for decades, been conservatives in the sense that they broadly want to preserve the status quo, while the mainstream right have embarked on a revolutionary project to remake society.

Mainstream democrats - by which I mean those in power, not necessarily Democrat voters - genuinely would prefer the status quo to AOC. And it is baffling to them that the mainstream Republicans no longer go along with their conservatism.

I think this has been a big cause of the rise of the populist right - the status quo is pretty shitty for a lot of people and, as the right-wing project advances, has been getting worse. โ€œWe promise not to make anything fundamentally better!โ€ isn't a great rallying call for anyone below the comfortable middle-class.

I'm sorry, but I still can't find an answer.

Can someone tell me why we keep asking the workers if a few sick days are worth shutting down the economy?

Shouldn't we instead be asking the railroad companies why they are threatening to destroy this country in order to deprive their workers of a few measley sick days?
