Ukraine's survival, Zelensky's triumphant speech - none of this was inevitable. Let's try to imagine what would have happened if the US and Europe had not helped Ukraine, if Russia had occupied the country, if the Ukrainian political class and creative class had been wiped out, if Russian troops were now based along the Polish border. What would the world look like now?

Ukrainian resistance and American support prevented a wide range of horrors.

The choices you face as a Dutch cyclist can be pretty tough. For instance, do I take the bi-directional cycling path on the left side of the road or the bi-directional cycling path on the right side of the road??

So Elon Truss, sorry, Elon Musk, has destroyed $-billions of value in Twitter & now seeks investors willing to buy shares at the pre-Truss, sorry pre-Musk, price.

@adambienkov uk, like Texas, made the ‘fatal’ error of leaving the security of a shared emergency power grid. In the case of Texas it left the federal power security grid and spent a frozen winter with regular power cuts. The republican senator fled to Hawaii with his family, but was busted by the press. Uk left the EU emergency power grid and is now paying the highest electricity prices in the world. Can’t read that in The Mail, Express or Telegraph. #brexit

I've argued for some time that the highly proportional structure of the Dutch local governmental system aids the creation of space to develop cycling policies which our FPTP closes down.

Talked to someone I know recently, women in her 80s, had been saying to her husband she wanted a E-bike, but he said it was unnecessary & cheating. Then he had problems with his knee & bought an E-bike. Now she's got her's. Two happy people but she regrets listening to his views.
