Intrigued to know if I can actually make this work... this time
I'm gonna keep posting this until one of you fucking boosts it

KEEP IN MIND! #Mastodon doesn't work like #Twitter!

Have you just made the #Twexit or the #TwitterMigration?

Favorites ⭐ - they're not "likes". They don't "elevate" posts, they just the poster know you liked their post.

Boosts 🔁 - these push someone's post into your friends feeds (and help discovery).

So if you ⭐ my posts, that's great (and I love you too)!

But if you 🔁 posts, then more people see them!

OH! - #Hashtags are how you search!

I've never quite appreciated the correlation between #coffee and #photography when it comes to where you invest your money.

If you want to make really great coffee - you should prioritise the quality of your grinder.

If you want to take great #photos - you should prioritize the quality of your lenses

An expensive coffee machine is useless with a poor grinder, and an expensive #camera can't take good photos with a poor lens

Hey, so, we've hit 1,028,362 monthly active users across the network today. 1,124 new Mastodon servers since Oct 27, and 489,003 new users. That's pretty cool.
Journalists at mainstream media such as Vice, Forbes, and NBC have made their own instance. They can be found at https://journa.host

Today’s driver. A nicely washed Peruvian. On the whole I’m still more of a natural process fan but this is tasty.

Still experimenting with the 4:6 method and getting there slowly.

To Twitter migrants complaining about learning how to use the Fediverse—do you forget what it was like to first join Twitter?

Questions that arose back in 2008:

1. What can I possibly say in 140 characters?
2. What is a hashtag, and why does it even exist?
3. How does anyone find anything?
4. Who do I follow?
5. What's a feed?

Twitter came with a learning curve.

I don't think Mastodon or the fediverse has ever received this much attention before. It's a great opportunity for people to finally see that social media can be done differently, that it can be a protocol not under control of any single company.
If you’re a part of #booktwitter that’s still using Goodreads then I would highly recommend checking out The StoryGraph for an alternative that actually, well, works
