Here we go again. Repeated Russian attacks on Ukrainian hospitals, schools, blood donation centres, residential areas. . .
And when Ukraine hits a Russian ship or bridge, it's reported as "Ukraine is escalating the war."
Ukraine is trying to stay alive.
There can be no negotiation until all Russian forces pull back, or are forced back, across the Russian border.
If Russia is allowed to keep an inch of Ukrainian territory, it will always come back to try for more.

We are profoundly saddened by the death of Ukrainian writer and human rights activist Victoria Amelina on 1 July 2023. She died of injuries sustained in a Russian missile attack on Ria Lounge, a restaurant in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kramatorsk, on 27 June. At least 12 other people were killed in the attack, including three children, and 60 were wounded.

We took the Skytrain and Seabus from our place in #Burnaby to North Vancouver on this gorgeous sunny day. Lovely little one-day staycation :-).

The juvenile Red-tailed Hawks are still hanging around in the tree canopy next to our townhouse in SE #Burnaby, BC. They are now taking short flights of up to around 10-20 meters. One ventured as far as the roof of a townhouse across from us, hung out there for awhile, and then flew back into the trees. There were three in view this evening.
Another photo tonight taken from our bedroom window of a young Red-tailed Hawk. There are at least two young, shrieking all day long for several days now as the adults increasingly ignore them to get them to fly. . .
The family of Red-tailed Hawks nesting above our townhouse balcony in SE #Burnaby, BC, was putting on a show tonight. Lots of vocalizing and short tree-to-tree flights. I think maybe the parents are trying to get the young to fly. Cool!
