The new updates to iWork on iOS are incredibly disappointing. On Keynote (while in full screen), if you navigate away to refer to a note, or to grab a photo from the web, when you come back, the entire app has reset and either needs to reopen your presentation or YOU have to reopen your presentation before you can do anything. It is so frustrating. The version from before the Creator Studio never did this. I could often leave it in the background for hours & come back and resume without a hitch.

I’m in a meeting where the main presenter is using Linux. The typography in every Linux distro I have seen is horrific. Everything, right down to how websites render, looks so bad.

I can’t fathom how people deal with it.

@gruber I love the “Efficient” personality on ChatGPT. I asked ChatGPT which personality matched me and it described a setting not in the menu: R&D Specialist.

Turns out that was 100% hallucination as well as the steps to use it. It then said I should stick with efficient. Thanks for sharing about the new personalities. They are a game changer.

My contract with Apple was up on August first and I'm looking for a long term position doing swift Ui for either Mac or iOS.

So if you have any references I’d appreciate it.

this article is haunting me because it is much more correct than it knows https://www.wired.com/story/vibe-coding-is-the-new-open-source/
Vibe Coding Is the New Open Source—in the Worst Way Possible

As developers increasingly lean on AI-generated code to build out their software—as they have with open source in the past—they risk introducing critical security failures along the way.

Reports of Slide Over’s Death Were Greatly Exaggerated

Well, that didn’t take long. In yesterday’s second developer beta of iPadOS 26.1, Apple restored the Slide Over functionality that was removed with the debut of the new windowing system in iPadOS 26.0 last month. Well…they sort of restored Slide Over, at least. In my review of iPadOS 26, I wrote: So in iPadOS 26,

Stamps, stamps, stamps!
