If as President you answer “I don’t know” when asked if you’ll follow the Constitution, you have violated your oath of office and should be removed.
Hello folks. Sorry, not been posting here (or anywhere much) for a year or so. I'm not vowing I'll be any more communicative in the future, just wanted to note that it was pleasant to see so much anti-Trump commentary here. Carry on.
I forgot to post anything about my art exhibition here. Er, I have an art exhibition at a cafe bart near Tokyo. Come on by tonight if you are in the neighbourhood. https://open.substack.com/pub/artbypatricksherriff/p/last-week-of-the-exhibition
Last week of the exhibition

Come say hello tonight and I'll sketch you for free

AI is coming for every English teacher in Japan's job

The Bulletin (Issue 55)

I wrote a piece with links to 52 articles on how to #teach #English in #Japan for yourself. It’s a year’s worth of advice on making a go of it as a self-employed #teacher. You will find it useful if that’s your cup of tea. https://freetalktefl.substack.com/p/52-reasons-you-should-teach-english

My town lets you request street trees be planted anywhere you can keep an eye on them and water if needed. I am responsible for four trees on my block, and just requested three more. It's great to know that I'm literally throwing shade.
Yesterday, I asked my students what their idea of perfect happiness was. Today, I found mine: sitting down in the car park of a big box lumber store with cut wood, screws, glue to make a picture frame and the largest stretched canvas I’ve ever bought; plus the prospect of weeks of painting and a night on the town tonight. Whether what I do with all this is any good, it matters not. It’s the prospect that warms the heart. https://open.substack.com/pub/artbypatricksherriff/p/incumbents

The faded, rusting shutters, the old post box, an abandoned cold box for milk bottles that haven’t been delivered here for years, and the poster for two politicians: this is the Japan I see on the way to pick up paint supplies. Medium: Oil paint on canvas

@rdviii Dearest Rod, in your international travels, do you ever get a SIM card to use abroad? I’m not quite sure how to go about it or if it is worth it since wifi is easy to find in the UK. Don’t know anyone else to ask who might know.
Trying to post one piece of #art every Saturday that I’ve made to Substack that I’m proud of with a little note. Here’s this week’s. Feel free to subscribe if that’s your thing. https://open.substack.com/pub/artbypatricksherriff/p/okada-san

She used to sell home-grown vegetables from her little white truck outside our house every Thursday morning. But that was ten or more years ago. I haven’t seen her in a while.
