My current nagging issue with iPadOS 26 is when you use the keyboard to call up a search with cmd-space it never allows typing until you do it a second time
Cool moment at @[email protected] tonight as 1,308 pucks were dropped to the ice to celebrate Anze Kopitar becoming the @LAKings' all-time points leader! 👏
Since I’ve already been ignoring 96% of the internet due to AI slop, this April fools day should be a piece of cake.

Two thoughts on customer phone support:

1. always start the call with "speak to a human”
2. the new iPhone call holding thing is very nice

It’s cliche at this point to mock apps that feature patch notes only stating “performance and stability improvements”

I’ve given it some thought and I could use some performance and stability improvements myself.

I will no longer mock these sparse patch notes.

If Apple is really going to remove UI compatibility mode in the next Xcode (the ability to opt out of liquid ass) that will probably be the death of at least one of my apps. The UI is too complex and Liquid Glass just fails in horrific ways.

I very much resent Apple forcing work on developers. Actively killing apps is totally unacceptable.

This would be a completely different discussion if everything in LG, SwiftUI, SwiftData, etc actually worked.

For anyone who read my about my issues with stalled page loading with Safari in iPadOS 26, I believe I have it resolved now.

Unfortunately it required a factory reset.

The Safari issue was not the only odd behavior since upgrading to 26. Seems better in general now as one might expect.

I’ve never had to resort to “just reinstall Windows” methods ever on an Apple device but here we are.

@bigzaphod since you’re probably waiting for horror stories regarding the latest #tapestryapp beta, I can report that it seems to be working fine. The initial sync took a while but all is well.

And that feature request I filed the other day for a default timeline setting may be more of a bug? I have seen the app load the most recent timeline at launch but more often than not it just loads all feeds.

Keep up the great work!

I defy anyone to attempt to learn anything new using todays AI slop infested internet. Try a new programming language or framework.

You need a highly developed AI crap detector or you will quickly give up. My estimate is 97% of the internet is now complete, nonsensical garbage.

There has always been an undercurrent of outdated or copied information but it usually had some basis in reality. Now it's almost all hallucinated garbage.

Like most things humans touch we have destroyed this.

The immediate difference I can think of between iOS and iPadOS is windowing/stage manager. No clue why this would slow Safari page loads but I’m turning them both off for a bit to see if anything changes.

Oh the things one does to debug issues seemingly beyond their control…
