Polling was done by Melbourne Uni with a sample size of 21,734

Clear national support for Gender Self ID and plurality support for there being more than 2 genders.

We've all heard a lot of nonsense recently about women being silenced on trans issues.

Well when women get to speak it's clear they support trans rights more than men. A clear majority of women are pro trans. This should be completely unsurprising to anyone who pays attention.

There was a really good thread recently about AI bullshitting ( I can't remember the user, but I think they had a crow/ raven in their in their PfP).

I've been messing around with Mid Journey, one of the better AI art programs and the analysis is spot on.

It's excellent at doing things like pictures of people but it falls down when you ask it for things like "holding an axe" or even what an axe is.

Take a look at the simple command "axe". Out of 16 attempts we get:

- Axes merged with chopping blocks
- Several Hammers
- Several deformed contraptions.
- 5/16 attempts are actually axes.

It's just bullshitting about what an axe is.

It's really telling that in just 4 years public polling has moved from 15% to 26% in favour of moving the date.

The hard work of Indegenous groups has smashed open the Overton window. Among people 35 and younger the numbers are breathtaking
- 45% want Australia Day replaced entirely
- 40% want another day to recognise indegenous people.
- 9% want to keep things the way they are.

It's not all sunshine and roses though. In a classic display of Australian complacency nearly half the population have confused symbolic changes with improvement in material conditions. 42% of Australians think things are improving and ignorant to the reality that things are somewhere between mixed and worse.

Started reading the excellent "Histories of Fascism and Anti-Fascism in Australia". I can't recommend it highly enough.

So far I have a number of critiques but it's one of the best histories of fascism ever produced in Australia. Particularly it's blunt assessments in the parts on Ustasha affiliated terrorist groups based in Australia.

For those not aware the coalition controlled Australian governments allowed the country to become a major base for transnational fascist terrorism and the governments of the time had direct ties to Croatian fascists.

This is before we get to enriching one of the world's most prominent bigots. Rowling has always been a prolific bigot and her books even have old school anti-Irish racism. No it's not just Seamus Finnegan stereotypical name, he just happens to have a speciality in blowing stuff up.

This is a direct reference to the "all Irish people are violent/terrorists" trope that has been a favourite of English racists since the 1100s. I'll note that it had a resurgence in the 90s when Rowling was writing the books.
