My name is Andy and I'm from Belgium. Born in '76.
I spend most of my free time digitising and restoring classic video game magazines, mostly from the UK.
I've been doing this for over 20 years now and I'm here to share my passion for these magazines, as well as the games they cover with others.
I love to read and talk about gaming memories from years gone by.

My main hobbies are gaming, both modern and retro gaming, as well as Japanese, South Korean and classic Hong Kong cinema.

And the contents pages for Advance 2 - Spring 2002 (UK)

Been working on this for the past couple of months and I can finally share it as the first mid-week summer release.

As summertime has always been the perfect time to play handhelds outside, I went through all the magazines I have left and found the portable issues.
I don't have many of these sadly, but they should last me for the next 6 weeks at least.

So without further ado, the first summer handheld release is Advance 2 - Spring 2002 (UK), which has just been added to the magazine catalogue.

Enjoy! 😙

Heads up on a 50% sale on both the regular version of Megaton Musashi W: WIRED on Switch as well as the Deluxe Edition with all the DLC.

Been waiting for a physical release of this to show up in the west, as the Japanese retail release does not support English despite the digital version having English support.
So I finally picked this up myself after hearing tons of great impressions from this one.

The ultimate exploration and celebration of Horror in video games. Five incredible episodes featuring 50 of the biggest names in horror gaming.

The pinball talk from this afternoon made me return to Pinball FX on Switch.
I have barely played this version yet, and I’m still missing a ton of tables as I’ve purchased them all before on various other platforms, and previously in FX3, so I’m waiting for a sale to pick them up on Switch.

While it’s not anything spectacular at all, I did manage to crack 1 billion in Star Trek The Next Generation. 😊

⚠️ Mastodon and Misskey will never ask you to verify your ID.

This is a scam attempting to collect personal information and, in some cases, hijack accounts by tricking you into clicking malicious links.

⚠️ However, Mastodon and Misskey do offer an option in your account settings to enable two-step verification for logins.

For your own security and to help prevent brute-force attacks, it’s strongly recommended that you enable this feature on your account.

I have to say, Clear River Games has quickly become one of my absolute favourite publishers.

Bringing over so many timeless classics and releasing them physically in Europe.
Case in point, this was just revealed and I never thought it would get a western release besides perhaps an overpriced Limited Run edition.

Finally back home...

Made an appointment with the eye doctor as I really should have had glasses for about 5 years now.

It got so bad that I'm having trouble reading text in games on my TV, so that can't stand!!! 😂

Found out that I have the eyesight of a goldfish after he showed me the difference without the prescription and then with.

The one occasion where "it looks like an N64 game" actually turned out to be accurate.
He didn't want to give me the ideal glasses right away since the difference would have been way too much, so you can imagine how bad it must be.
Gonna have to return in 12-18 months for a final prescription once I'm used to wearing the ones I'm getting in a week or two.

Looking forward to being able to stay up a little later as my eye just completely shut down at the end of a day when I'm already exhausted.

I imagine the past 20 years of working non-stop on magazine scans and the thousands of hours of photoshop didn't help either. 👀

Just finished another Mega Picross puzzle without assists, which gave me a lot of trouble.
Needed versions tries over the past few weeks to actually crack it.

As towards the end, there’s a couple of really nasty logic traps in there that can easily be overlooked.

Anyone cracked this one in Picross S2?
I’m interested in seeing clear times also.
