My name is Andy and I'm from Belgium. Born in '76.
I spend most of my free time digitising and restoring classic video game magazines, mostly from the UK.
I've been doing this for over 20 years now and I'm here to share my passion for these magazines, as well as the games they cover with others.
I love to read and talk about gaming memories from years gone by.

My main hobbies are gaming, both modern and retro gaming, as well as Japanese, South Korean and classic Hong Kong cinema.

I think that’s the perfect time to call it a day.
Just had my best game of Attack From Mars ever. 😄
Even destroyed Mars, which I’d never done before.
Jumped quite a bit in the rankings as I went from a score of 7 billion to 19 and a half.

Got all of my JoyPad issues out and finally sorted them.
These go from 1993 to 2008.
I seem to be missing most of 1995 although I remember having certain issues, so I'm hoping a couple might still turn up somewhere.

But all in all, it's a lot more issues than I thought I had.
Haven't counted them exactly, but it should be around 140 issues I think, seeing as most stacks here are 10 issues.

Well, I finally got my glasses.

Never had any before, so this is a massive change for me.
Not only because my eyesight had gotten incredibly bad over the years, but also since I have no idea if these side effect are normal and temporary or if something went wrong.

I have two pair for now, one for close by and one for in the distance.
Both are needed, especially the latter ones.

But the thing is, I know that I'll be wobbling around like a drunk sailor for 3-5 days. So that's alright.
What is the weirdest part for me is that when I either look downward or at certain things, everything is warped, like how the floor seems to be on a really steep downward slope till around 3-4 meters from me.

And with the reading glasses, my laptop screen now looks like this drawing.
so completely misshaped.
Not even close to being a square with 90° corners. The keyboard is similar but flipped. Really weird.

Is that normal at first?

Another sad example of how classic games were looked down upon with the advent of 3D gaming.
Such a shame as this was a brilliant package, only let down with the messy scaling effect of the game running in Yoko mode, although the Tate mode fixed that.

My score: and easy 85% and I would gladly give it a 90% even as I'm a massive Devious fan.

This was one of the last games I was expecting to pop up in a regular issue of GamesMaster, well okay, besides Visual Novels I guess.

Preview for Nanatsu Kaze no Shima Monogatari or The Story of the Island of the Seven Winds on Sega Saturn.
An adventure game developed by Givro and published by Enix, which would never release outside of Japan.

Been working on this for the past couple of months and I can finally share it as the first mid-week summer release.

As summertime has always been the perfect time to play handhelds outside, I went through all the magazines I have left and found the portable issues.
I don't have many of these sadly, but they should last me for the next 6 weeks at least.

So without further ado, the first summer handheld release is Advance 2 - Spring 2002 (UK), which has just been added to the magazine catalogue.

Enjoy! 😙
