Notion Systems Builder & creator of Agile Life Design. I help ambitious people do great things without the constant hustle and burnout. If you're constantly getting in your own way, you need an Order Collie.

Drinking a cup of dried fig leaf tea this morning, mostly because I wanted to figure out how much I might need to add fig leaves to a beer I'm planning on brewing with them.

Fig leaves have a sort of vanilla adjacent earthy woody flavor. I was thinking they would go well in a dark mild.

Weekly reminder that I am looking for work!

In the corporate sphere I do Customer Success and Enablement, but everywhere else I am essentially a Business Border Collie.

If you have things that need doing which you are too busy to get done (or just hate doing) then I may be your huckleberry.

I'm equal parts strategic and tactical. I don't just DO THE THINGS you know need done, but point out things you may be missing or could be tweaked to work better for you.

Best of all, I speak the language of makers and creators.

What I Do:

• Build/Optimize Systems
• General Administration
• Client/Community Care
• Content/Creative Support
• Social Media/Marketing Execution
• Project Management
• Research, Sourcing, Procurement

From wildly ambitious projects to the daily grind, I take away the stuff in your way so that you can focus on the things that only you can do.

If you, or someone you know, might need any of this, hit me up!

Seriously.

Don't make me have to work for Costco.

We can't take our communities, our country, or our world back until we take back the sovereignty of our thought processes.

We even already have a war plan! People who are Autistic, ADHD, Bipolar, and/or suffer from General Anxiety Disorder or Depression have been fighting this battle for decades. They've written hundreds of books to help others like them.

Now we all suffer from the same symptoms they do.

If you have never been Neurodivergent before, congratulations... you are now. You don't need an official mental disorder to suffer the effects of them.

We need to learn their skills and techniques now.

We need to listen to those who know this terrain intimately.

They are the leaders we need.

Decades worth of speculative fiction plots have aliens that abduct / study / befriend humans in an effort to improve their own society which is threatened / dying because they lack the emotion / creativity / passion our brains have that makes us unique.

Turns out we didn't need aliens.

The sad, broken people behind GenAI don't have any of that either.

But rather than wanting to improve themselves (which they have more than enough free time and money to do if they cared to try) they want to make the rest of us dumber and more broken than them so that they can rule us.

More and more I see the act of reclaiming our minds from the late stage attention economy, pernicious algorithms, political PsyOps, and GenAI slop as the fight of our age.

It's been 2.5 years now since I was laid off from my 18.5+ year job in corporate.

After spending 8+ months trying to find corporate work and getting crickets, I decided to try launching a solo career. It had a lot of bright spots and promising glimmers, until November 2024 and beyond.

Now, running out of runway fast, I am seeking any sources of income I can find, from full-time to contract and coaching.

My list of skills is appropriately huge for someone with 30+ years of experience and ADHD, so please check out my website for more details.

But, if you want a TLDR version:

I help organize, inspire, and enable individuals and businesses to accomplish their goals sustainably and effectively so that they can maximize the good they do in the world.

No job is too small and any lead or introduction is welcome!

Agile Life Design is ultimately a procrastination fighting toolkit.

The strategy and execution system prevents indecisiveness, perfectionism, and overwhelm.

The gamification layer spurs motivation and encourages rest and recovery.

Whether your thing is big or small, ALD can help you do it.

🔶 Take tiny steps closer every day

◾ Conduct 8-week Sprints during which you work on one or two experiments by completing their Actions and Habits.

◾ Each week assign Actions and Habits to your calendar until you reach an appropriate number of Effort Points for that week.

◾ At the end of each week, reflect on the previous week, make adjustments to your Actions and Habits and Effort Points as needed, record any insights, and plan the next week.

✅ Sprints should be aligned to whenever they fit best in the natural flow of your life.

✅ Winning is addictive. The more you win the more energy you have to put into winning again and again.

✅ Taking the time to reflect and adjust keeps you aware of the distance you have traveled and the wins you have had along the way and gives you permission to modify what comes next based on what you have learned.

I'm eager to get some folks together so I can play test it and help more people do great things in life.

🔶 Playfully work on getting there

◾ Design Experiments to test tactics for achieving your Intentions. are best written as something you will try, why you think it will work, and what measurable outcome you expect to get.

◾ Create Actions and Habits to be the smallest possible steps you can make to conduct the Experiment.

◾ Assign Effort Points to every Action and Habit by combining estimated completion time with the subjective difficulty for YOU to complete them.

✅ Playful thinking creates energy rather than depleting it.

✅ Effort Points make it difficult to attempt too much at once.

✅ Slow and steady is not only more efficient, but a lot nicer way to live.

Here's a breakdown of the three main parts of Agile Life Design (https://agilelifedesign.com/) and why each part matters so much in helping people achieve their big life goals.

🔶 Build a clear vision of your destination

◾ Create 9-12 year Visions that are ambitious, tied to your core values, and highly detailed. I like writing these up as a 3-4 paragraph story.

◾ Create a 3 year Vision that is the first checkpoint on the road to achieving each 9-12 year Vision.

◾ Create an Intention for the next 12 months that is roughly 1/3rd of the way towards each 3 year Vision. Your Intentions should be "I will" + "so that" action statements with a measurable outcomes.

✅ Without an idea of where you're going you can’t be intentional about your direction.

✅ Each vision creates a continual roadmap to achievement.

✅ Like a compass, a clear and powerful vision keeps you aligned as the conditions change.

I've always been good at coming up with ideas, but the squirrel I have in place of a brain has never been any good at making them a reality.

- I balk at the enormity of the task and how to even start
- Or I spend months learning how to start but never actually put any of it into practice
- Or I try to rely on motivation alone, fail whenever I have a down day, and never get back on the wagon
- Or I don't pay attention to the little wins and never get through the "trough of despair" (where reality doesn't meet aspiration)
- And even if I manage to dodge all of those, I never give myself time to pause and reflect and celebrate before plowing ahead with the next thing

All stuff that I've designed https://agilelifedesign.com/ to help people address.
