It’s official. With this telescopic backscratcher from Daiso, I finally have no need for other humans. I no longer fear being the sole survivor of the next cataclysmic pandemic.
I saw a sweet film set in #Melbourne titled “hands up who’d like a hug?“ at Cinema Nova today. It looks like it was part of Melbourne Int. Comedy Fest. Shot entirely on an iPhone 13, with unknown actors punching above their weight class, it was funny, endearing, and well-scripted, centered around the antics of a lonely millionaire trying to make friends. I hope it gets out to a wider audience. https://www.filmink.com.au/mick-connolly-is-ready-to-laugh-with-hands-up-whos-like-a-hug/
I know the feeling, truck. I know the feeling. It’s constant, isn’t it?

Not on board, I’m nowhere near these shenanigans.

Rushing to the hospital Emergency Room has emerged as perhaps the paramount objective of slamming one’s own dick in a doorway.
Rasam (a type of spicy soup) and 2 x parotha from South Indian joint Saravanaa Bhavan in #Melbourne CBD. The parotha takes up the rasam really nicely. A little spicy for the AM, but delicious. Topped off with Madras coffee, which they now have oat and soymilk options for.
Lulu’s Char Koay Teow in Hardware lane, #Melbourne CBD, now has an expanded menu. Friends and I tried their laksa, but the signature dish char koay Teow reigned supreme. However, the new deep fried tofu was pretty good, and the teh tarik in shaved ice (bingsu) form was novel.

Have settled on a diet schedule of when to have red, white and veg days in the week. I aim to alternate veg or plant-based days with meat days (I don’t consume dairy). If I do eat meat two days in a row, it would be white meat. On meat days, it would be a single serving of up to 250g (pre-cooked weight) of free-range, pasture-raised etc., as close to ethical as possible basically. Two typical weeks could look like the schedule in the photo.

I’ve always loved the look of classic motorbikes, but have been wary of the risks to life and limb that go with riding a bike. As well, I wouldn’t buy one for the same reason I wouldn’t get a car - the air pollution and the emissions involved. Been electric-curious for a while (they minimize and don’t eliminate emissions of course) but haven’t found anything to satiate my aesthetic tastes until coming across this lovely 2-seater from #Maeving. Hope they ship to Aus soon, life and limb be damned!

Starting to get into Jeff Hanson’s music, a mix of folk and folk-pop symphonies. He only made three albums in his all-too-short life, the two I’ve listened to are incredible. He had a lovely falsetto voice, full of tenderness, and his music evokes a sense of gentleness, innocence and unassuming beauty. Layered songwriting, in parts reminiscent of Elliott Smith, and indeed they were on the same label.
