I get notifications from a few subreddits for conversations about these conversational LLM products... and oh my goodness is it insane how people anthropomorphize them. On top of that - thinking like that tends to block the productivity they get out of the app. Maybe it shouldn't be, but it is wild to me.

These two paragraphs are not fair to the article, which goes into slave narratives and the suppression of the speech of those enslaved, and the overlap between the First and Fourteenth Amendments, but pulled out what I needed.
Unemployment is at pre-pandemic rates.
Workforce participation is down only 0.5% compared to same time of year pre-pandemic despite the share of retired workers being up 1% in that time.
US wages adjusted for inflation/cost of living is up compared to pre-pandemic.
Related question.... what ARE they? I mean what is the technical term? For example I see chat bots referred to as LLM and image generators as LDM... Is there a blanket technical term encompassing both the LLM and LDM types? Are LLMs a type of LDM? Am I even making sense to people who know what they're talking about?
Listening to the incendiaries on July 4th is an interesting kind of privilege. I can wrap myself in comfort at the knowledge that, for the most part, this is people expressing joy. I would assume that most people, around the world, hearing this would not feel so comforted.
