I commit journalism at the St. Paul Pioneer Press newspaper, where I work as a web editor and tech reporter, and for the Apple-centric TidBITS tech-news site and newsletter. @glennf I will leave a negligible footprint. The road towards that goal started recently, and will take years if not decades. I'm excited to work on this. (I'm a minimalist OCD neat freak.)

@KingShawn Yeah, that's what my parents in a New Hampshire village are getting ... now that fiber has come in. My mother was so excited when that happened; I told her the provider is ripping everyone off.
What may be a silly/stupid question but here goes (no laughter, please): Is there a way to open the web app in the advanced interface by default? Thanks.

@KingShawn Xfinity (yes, *that* Xfinity) upgraded me from 100 Mbps down to 1 Gbps down/100 Mbps up at no extra charge.
All it took was a modem swap.
Sure, I'd love symmetrical gigabit fiber, but this will do for now.
