Having late breakfast on the porch. Already started the work day.

Nearly perfect temperature, light breeze, clear blue sky, and a humming bird just flitted by.

This is much better.

I go back and forth on having a work device near to hand most times.

It means they can reach me during breakfast, but it also means I can sit outside and enjoy this beautiful day, while still covering my responsibilities.

Covid proved that many white collar computer jobs can be done 100% remote.

WFH >> RTO

Two things that have vastly improved my online life lately:

1. Adding "||accounts.google.com/gsi/*$xhr,script,3p" to Ublock Origin, which comprehensively blocks every Google login popup on random websites;

2. Switching my paypal.com bookmark to "https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_account," which bypasses the "Download the app" nag-screen.

Join myself, and many other women, in Las Vegas for a WWT -sponsored breakfast with The Forte Group, on Thursday August 7th from 8-10 am. Meet other women in cyber, make friends and network!

Seriously. What’s your excuse for still being on X at this point. They’ve literally built HitlerBot.

Next time you see a bunch of U-Haul Nazis:

- Have a local person call 9-1-1. Not the police line. 911. And only if you're local. You have to be in the jurisdiction for this to work.

- Report a crime in progress. "I'm watching a dozen or so masked armed men pile into the back of a moving van without seatbelts. I know this to be a crime and I feel unsafe."

- A cop will be dispatched to the scene to conduct an investigation. Nobody will go to jail over this. This is at best a misdemeanor.

- However the cops will still have to pile everybody out of the vehicle and ID them to issue seatbelt violations. That means body cam footage.

- Body cam footage that can be FOIA requested by antifascist investigators. That means drivers license photos, names, and addresses of Nazis.

- That means Nazis who lose their job, get kicked out of their mom's basement, etc. Many of these sick fucks only do what they do because they're operating under the assumption of anonymity. Take that assumption away.

Change my mind

One of the main reasons people come to NYC, stay in NYC and like NYC is because it's one of the places in the US where a large number of people share a common value system built on the celebration of diversity and the power we derive and joy we find in living together not just tolerating but actively seeking out people who see the world differently. THIS is how you learn.

Finding the way to do this without compromising any of these individual identities.

There are only three political positions in America today 1) I like the fascism 2) I'll acquiesce to the fascism (reasons for this one vary: cowardice, access, denial, misguidedly thinking that acquiescence is savvy, etc) 3) I oppose the fascism The rest is details

@chartier what if ICE arrested assholes like Crowder instead of thousands of people who haven't done anything wrong
@chartier America is not a nation :)
@chartier May we not use this asshole for this meme, please ?
@RnDanger @CypherSephiroth In general I don’t use it anymore but considering the topic and commentary, it seemed fitting

@chartier

Well, it’s a nice compilation, but I get your message.

And no, it’s not free…

@chartier I wish the world would stop saying “america.” First of all, the entire continent is america, not just our little bullshit country the united snakes. Better to just pronounce it dead and start over. This time with one hundred percent less European settler involvement. #LandBack

It was never a free country, except for white men, but only a certain kind of those as well.

In retrospect, the Pilgrims ships should have been burned upon arrival on Plymouth Rock.

@csgraves @chartier
The etymology of America has an odd history. In 19th century "America" meant the United States + Guam + Samoa + Philippines + Puerto Rico + Virgin islands + Pacific outlying regions + Carribbean outlying regions + Hawaii + Alaska + all other smaller islands that the US annexed over the years. Before 1898 "America" was rarely used. After 1898 "America" became common usage to refer to the "empire" not the republic. That is, an empire the US has since denied being. #funfact

@csgraves @chartier

Now, now. Humans are largely the same shite regardless what continent they occupy. Just because you're more familiar with the sordid history of the United States doesn't de facto mean that other nations and continents didn't enjoy their own sordidness. Consider Asia, which has only rarely been home to democracies and never a hotbed of them. Same for Africa. Monarchies, dictators, oligarchies, and fascism found purchase on every continent.

It's the same shite everywhere. Human skin color or facial morphology might change a wee bit, but not human behavior.

@chartier - It is getting there - Very Scary

@atlovato @chartier

It's here—too late to be scared, not too late to be loud in a crowd.

Being scared and doing nothing will get you nothing.

@chartier
You have to pay for hospitals
@chartier This is the only version of the Crowder meme I endorse.

@chartier

I guess his mind was changed

@chartier there are very few "free" nations. We live in a dictatorship of the elite. We are only as free as they allow us to be.
@jubei @chartier which begs the question; why do we let them allow us?
@lacybarry @chartier lack of class consciousness. People don't know which class they belong to (most of us are working class).
@jubei @chartier maybe...they do tend to cosplay the majority of us for favor...I think we just don't know how powerful we really are.
