@christianselig curse spez for robbing me of this
@axios I really dont know what Can be done other than guarantees from developers, publishers and the contracts themselves stipulating no generative use of an actors likeness or voice will be used. But as soon as any work is made public, there can and will be people that decide they want to use a work as a data set for a generative AI. It’s just the the way the internet works, for better or for worse.
I'm launching a new social media app. It's called BIRB. This is the logo. It's the only app that demands you crochet, knit or embroider your posts.
Posts are called 'Yarns', editing a Yarn is called Darning, threads are called Tapestries, pile-ons are Shag Piles, blocking is called Black-Sheeping.

In today's remarkable right-wing self-own, crazy, COVID-minimizing, MAGA Laura Loomer admits to having Long #COVID19 without realizing it.
Well, at least Reddit has admitted their "we're not trying to be like Twitter/Elon" stuff was false

Another great interview with @christianselig re: the whole #RedditMeltdown #RedditBlackout

I’d love to eventually see Christian develop an app for #Lemmy or #Kbin. A good mobile app could really help those communities grow, and unlike Reddit, they aren’t centrally controlled by corporations and tech bros. #FederationIsTheFuture #MakeTheWebGreatAgain

@choyer honestly a huge point. focusing on the API pricing issue alone may be missing the forest for the trees. Thanks for helping me reassess if I should go back to Reddit or not.
@vikinghoarder you’ll like it! Takes some getting used to to begin with.

@[email protected] @Banur this is the best advice. Two large communities already.

In reality though, whatever you can join that is also stable works fine.
