❓Have you noticed that digital products and services are getting worse? So have we!

➡️We have published a report about enshittification, on how and why digital products and services keep getting worse - and how we can turn the trend (hint: open tech, enforcement, public policy++)

Obviously @pluralistic is a big inspiration and help in this work.

The New World Order:

US gets the Americas including Venezuelan oil, Canada and Greenland
China gets Taiwan
Russia gets ex-URSS states

Each closes the eyes on the invasions of the others. This is a marriage of convenience against International Law and Sovereignty.

🇪🇺 The big unknown is whether the EU is going to federate or fall divided, becoming vassal states from one of these poles.

Time to stand up 💪

White House says sign language services 'intrude' on Trump's public image

The Trump administration argues that providing real-time American Sign Language interpretation for events like White House press briefings would intrude on the president’s control over his public image. This stance is part of a lawsuit filed by the National Association for the Deaf, which claims the lack of ASL interpretation denies deaf Americans access to important communications. The Justice Department suggests alternatives like online transcripts and closed captioning provide what's needed. A federal judge recently ordered the White House to provide the interpreting, but the administration has appealed.

I became a software engineer because writing code is fun. Thinking through hard problems, designing elegant solutions, seeing the things you’ve built working for the first time… these moments are all deeply satisfying, so why in the world would I ever surrender them to AI?
