Not really a bad thing, though. Everyone stays informed about what is happening with the network.

Exactly, they are just pushing user "engagement" with no concern for anything other than their own means. Whatever gets the most clicks gets pushed, then whatever gets the most from that, and so on. Self-feeding, almost like a feedback loop.

I think we are going about this all wrong. Attacking each other's perspective/opinion doesn't help. We can agree that there IS a problem at the border that needs to be address, right? Children dying is a problem no matter how it came to be. How do we fix that? Allowing children to be a loophole for easy passage is not going to make it go away. Can we at least agree on that?

I am no way trying to say that racism doesn't exist. There absolutely are racist people. Whatever laws we try to pass are not going to cure that.

What I propose is that we stop dividing over things that we can't or won't agree on and start working together to solve the problems we CAN solve.

There are some things we are better off just agreeing to disagree.

There are still racist people for sure. How do we solve that? What law will make them suddenly not racist?

Also, where do we draw the line between racism and cultural clash? Many times it is less of an issue of "race" and more of an issue of incompatible values. Do we force everyone to have the same opinions so they can no longer disagree?

So banks make loans based on race instead of credit, earnings, or payment history? Why would they do that? Trump?

Right. It was brought to light and he resigned. His actions were condemned and renounced. It was not condoned. Not accepted. Exactly as I said. If what he did was widespread and accepted he would not have been shamed by it and forced to resign. It also would not have been news.

I'm not sure what you mean. It wasn't a hostile or defensive response, more a real question. I see people constantly being called "racist" simply because the don't agree with a specific groups agenda. It's very frustrating. It is divisive at best and does nothing to solve any of the problems. It is simply blaming a certain person or a certain group of people for all the problems and then blocking anything they can say because they are "racist".

Interesting that you say this was in a "liberal southern city". The school I went to was DOMINANTLY white. Only about 10% black students. Racism was not a problem there. There was NOTHING there like what you speak of. If racism were so widespread and systemic, would it have not been prevalent in such an environment? It makes no sense that it was completely absent there. Why is it so much more prevalent in the places you speak of...the "liberal" ones?

Really? Where is all of this "overt" racism? Is it hearsay? I have seen people fail drug tests and immediately cry racism or any other form of injustice. Does that count? Are we talking about the Asian man who owns the convenience store that follows young black boys around his store? Is that white supremacy? Please tell me where I can find the systemic racism. I honestly want to know.
