Interesting that you say this was in a "liberal southern city". The school I went to was DOMINANTLY white. Only about 10% black students. Racism was not a problem there. There was NOTHING there like what you speak of. If racism were so widespread and systemic, would it have not been prevalent in such an environment? It makes no sense that it was completely absent there. Why is it so much more prevalent in the places you speak of...the "liberal" ones?
