It’s worth saying again that people who stand against #aiSlop are NOT standing against #AI tech itself, but the way that the tech is developed and deployed.

Tech is neutral. AI tech is neutral. Burning fossil fuels is neutral. Nuclear power is neutral. Using asbestos for fire resistance is neutral. The tech behind firearms are neutral. Each of these tech can be developed and deployed *judiciously* to achieve specific things that are good for humanity.

But context matters; in fact, context is overwhelmingly important. Burning fossil fuels is neutral, but not when you also poison people, create an international hegemony of power around it, or cause the planet to become uninhabitable.

The context around AI tech today is one of forced nonconsenual use, extractive deployment, mass devaluation of human labor, and market manipulation based on impossible promises. This context is what drives people like me to reject the tech: not because the tech is bad, but because the *systems* behind the tech are bad.

I've come to be able to intuitively sense different very specific failures in Bluesky's microservice/hosting architecture like I'm an old timey rancher or something. There's a slight purplish hue to the sky over the west range and clouds like ridged dunes. "Reckon the Bluesky PDSes are down again," I muse to myself, chewing on like… a piece of straw or something. Is that something people do? My grandfather was a farmer and his place had a lot of straw around but he didn't eat it. It's for horses

- In my horny thoughts I like to imagine myself as the girl.
- Shaving is fucking annoying but I hate having a beard even more, I'd rather pour acid in my face than have to shave ever again.
- Human ears are so weird and ugly. Why can't humans have cat ears?
- If I found a genie offering me three wishes, my first one would be to get transformed into a catgirl. And then I would be out of ideas.
- Male-typical human genitals are so weird and ugly. Why can't I have female-typical genitals?
- I'm jealous of the female orgasm. Very jealous. Much more fun and much less mess.
- Puberty ruined my voice.
- Why can't humans have soft smooth feline fur? Or at least hairless skin?
- I hate my assigned name. What's the point of legal name changes being so fucking hard in my country?

Transphobia sucks to be subjected to for the obvious reason that being hated hurts and being discriminated against makes life harder.

But I think another way that transphobia affects the mental health of trans people is that we are constantly subjected to people being extremely confidently wrong. The majority of society, in fact. And I think that makes us feel crazy.

Like, the trans women having an advantage in sports thing has been scientifically disproven so many times. Bone density, wrong. Muscle mass, wrong.

The prevalence of the term "biological women", and especially its use by "neutral parties" and "allies". The way cis people have zero idea what HRT does and have so much magical thinking around chromosomes. The way that *doctors* have so many misconceptions around progesterone, etc...

Arguments around "singular they", especially by English teachers and "educated people".

Extremely bad faith arguments about trans mass shooters. The complete myth of trans bathroom predators. Fearmongering around gender neutral bathrooms, despite their previously-unproblematic existence on planes and in homes.

Not a single one of these things stands up to even the most cursory amount of research or reasoning. And yet we still hear about them day in and day out. The media treats them as being worthy of debate. Our own fucking families consistently fall for this bullshit, and it takes so much more effort to convince them of the (extremely obvious) truth than it ever did to sell them the lies.

And it's all so fucking obvious to us that we start to feel crazy. How do other people not see through it? If the number of people who see things so clearly is so few, are we somehow the people who are wrong? Are we missing something big that blinds us to the complexity? Are we in so deep that we can't see reality?

But no, it's because transphobia is a manufactured wedge-issue and the average person has zero idea how much propaganda they are exposed to and zero inoculation against believing it.
