As people join from other social media, the #fediverse is going to hear new voices. Diversity takes many visible and invisible forms. No one person —regardless of how well meaning they are — can be free from all biases. That’s why it is important to collectively ensure traditionally underrepresented and marginalized voices feel comfortable in communities. There should always be safe spaces to share lived experiences.

With the amount of hate and violence directed towards members of the #LGBTQ + community, bans on conversion therapy are a bare minimum we should have.

We are outright failing to protect people at their most vulnerable.
