Oklahoma Pol Wants To Ban Gender-Affirming Care For People Under 26

So you can rent a car but you can't get hormones?

This morning I opened up a package with this beautiful book in it:

I decided that splitting "local/friends" vs "general social" instances is too much overhead, so I'll be moving to my @nirak account

I'll be manually following people again from that account, I hope it's not too annoying to follow back again

#cargobike folk with kid(s), anyone have perspectives on the Tern stormbox/stormshield system or the Urban Arrow raincover? Want to keep riding through the fall/winter (though not sure I'll get studded tires, so primarily riding when no ice/snow on the ground) with my 10 month old.

Interesting comment on Hackernews regarding a possible scenario/long term risk should Mastodon threaten the corporate sphere of social media.

Twitter is going to make Musk a millionaire.

Now the way the Internet Archive is doing mastodon is how more organisations and celebs should be joining the fediverse!

They have a dedicated in house instance, which lets you identify official staff, and gives them control and security over their content, whilst also allowing people and instances to opt in or out of interacting with them

Kudos for doing it right @internetarchive!

There is a moment, a joyous moment, between when the staff stands ready, feet shuffle quietly, a hush and a murmur runs in the space before the giant doors creak open and the day's endeavors begin.

And this is that moment.

Welcome to Mastodon, Internet Archive.

One of the unanticipated consequences of Twitter imploding is that it reduces opportunities for patients to communicate with insurers amid denials and delays of coverage.

Through my book research (and personal experience), I've found this social media platform to be an invaluable tool for patients seeking to work up the health insurer hierarchy to resolve disputes. (As an aside, it's a sad commentary on our health care system that we rely on public shaming to get coverage we deserve.)

Today’s guest on our show is Alexandra Horowitz, who founded the Dog Cognition Lab at Barnard. My oldest kid has been peppering me with questions for her. They are so good.

(If you have your own doggie questions, I am all ears.)
