Update on the mobile app recommendations: #fedilab has the best feature set. Little rough around the edges and it's not free but it's under active development.

@mollyconger one of the limitations of this massively federated system of servers is there's no simple way to search across the entire #Fediverse. What we have instead, much like the old days of #twitter, is hashtags, which do get indexed everywhere. The best way to spread the Good News Of Buck and Otto is via #dogsofmastodon, #puppers, #DachshundsOfMastodon, etc
