Strap in, it's time for my 2 completely subjective and non-authoritative tips for #howToMastodon.

1. Get yourself off mastodon.social and onto something smaller and either more local or closer to your profession/passion/vibe. Shout out to the #binChickens.

2. The best #mobile app I've found so far on #android has been: the mobile site itself, saved as an app. I literally could not find the #federated #timeline in the official app.

Update on the mobile app recommendations: #fedilab has the best feature set. Little rough around the edges and it's not free but it's under active development.

@ninechars I’m still not sure about (1), but (2) I fully agree, even more so for iOS. #Pinafore as web app is nice, too

@ninechars Does saving the mobile site as an app give you notifications? I'm guessing not since it's more like a chrome bookmark?

@fathermucker it can do, at least in chrome with site notifications.

I still think the mobile site is the most full-featured option but I've found myself using Tusky because it's simple and fast
