Ok kids, here we go:

#Bandwagon, the open #Fediverse alternative to #Bandcamp is ready for its first steps into the light.

I have a waitlist online at
https://bandwagon.fm if you'd like to try it out.

I'm planning to build the first (dozen? I don't know) profiles in the waitlist personally, with an email questionnaire and FaceTime follow-ups if necessary.

Once I'm confident in the UX, we'll open up self-serve signups for everyone.

@mjohnharrison 'Every noise sounded like an axe or a hammer, and the sunset was like blood over the grey headland.' Great stuff ...

There's an interview on the Guardian #books #podcast from when this appeared in You Should Come With Me Now:

I really had high hopes for this year though
I’m thinking it may benefit writers to go through the act of binding their own book once. A concrete reminder of conciseness, and maybe just as therapeutic as digging a deep grave for a dead dog. If and when I ever finish my first novel, I think I’ll have to give this a go.
Helped the kiddo with his #bookbinding project for school. Can’t think of anything that takes sewing skills, requires changing printer drivers twice, and hammering your head against indesign. Indesign was the worst part, and I can do lots of things with lots of Adobe programs. In the end quite fun, I know my stitching is rudimentary— but it looks like a book. (Just one signature
luckily).
Gotta remember to keep this handy. I'm always getting my eras and epochs and things mixed up.
