Thanks to NGI Mobifree fund by @nlnet I got funding to improve caniwebview.com and your data and tools are invaluable for #webviews. This is your well-deserved piece of the pie.
WebViews are in a weird spot. They sit between web and native, and the teams developing them sit somewhere between browser engine and OS development. I’ve heard that developing features for WebViews can take 30-50% longer than for browsers. Maybe that’s why WebViews are often an afterthought? What if we could decouple WebView development from platform development and the business interests of native app ecosystems? Could a truly open and independent WebView bring fresh air into this space?
