"I can’t speak to what lurks in the hearts of political reporters and editors, but one has to wonder why there isn’t more coverage about Trump musing about sentencing the nation’s highest ranking general to death than, say, the age of the current president…

Oddly, Trump’s dangerous rant was not treated as the major news it absolutely should have been."

Let’s Not Sleepwalk Into Another Donald Trump Presidency

The GOP front-runner’s “treason” talk makes clear, yet again, that he’s a danger to democracy.

I know it won’t affect his base, but nice to see the fraud changes stick in NY
A really random thought from one who so far only occasionally posts here. It seems like there is an ethos of reposting to boost but not ‘liking’. I’m only a rare reposter, but I think liking is great because it shows interest and that one isn’t just posting into the void. I really don’t care much about boosting, but I don’t mind likes (or whatever the star is called) and will probably use that function more than repost on any social media platform, including this one.

playing on the main stage, the young woman on right was one of 3 finalists in the #RockyGrass #Banjo Contest (young woman accompanying on left is her sister and a Guitar Contest finalist) ~ 15 and 18 years old respectively...

most incredibly the 15-year-old WON the contest ~ afterwards staff were researching if she may be the youngest winner in history of this prestigious contest ~ many winners of RockyGrass band/instrument contests go on to be huge in #bluegrass ~ she is gonna be a star 🪕⭐️

@lowqualityfacts I just use the like button to like a post, never used it on any app specially to try to increase its visibility, people always dunking on the like button is a bit ridiculous. Back in twitter days or on any app when I hit ‘like’ it never was about gaming the algorithm to make it more visible, (even if it had that effect). Honestly it turns me off a bit how people are so anti ‘like’ on here. I get that you are being tongue and cheek, but just saying.

What seems like a more dangerous precedent to set?

—Prosecuting a former president

—Letting a former president avoid accountability for allegedly stealing classified documents and then conspiring to obstruct the government's efforts to retrieve them

Lol, true.

#Trump saying "DOJ is not coming just after me, they are coming after you," only makes sense if you have intentionally taken nuclear and military secrets and obstructed justice. Unless that applies to you, you can relax! #TrumpIndictment

Imagine how corrupt you have to be as a Republican Attorney General to get impeached by a Republican legislature in TEXAS
Big non-republican wins in both Colorado Springs and Jacksonville this week (both cities that have traditionally supported Republicans for mayor). Article about the Colorado Springs Election https://coloradosun.com/2023/05/16/yemi-mobalade-colorado-springs-mayor/
Yemi Mobolade elected mayor of Colorado Springs — the first Black man elected to lead the city — in political upheaval

Mobolade’s victory represents a political earthquake in Colorado Springs, long known as a conservative stronghold. Wayne Williams is a Republican while Mobolade is unaffiliated.
