If you, like me, are keeping a Mac on MacOS 15 Sequoia for now (I tend not to upgrade my work Machine until the .1 or .2 releases at the earliest), be careful with Software Update. It sure looks like clicking the “Update Tonight” or “Update Now” buttons next to the available 15.7.2 update will update to that, but if you click the little (i) info button, it sure looks like what will happen is that you'll install the upgrade to 26.1 Tahoe.
The president becoming a crypto billionaire and pardoning convicted criminals who introduced his family to crypto is the sort of thing that people used to associate with “corrupt” dictatorships and now it’s not even the scandal of the week.

Not a perfect solution, but for Californians who are mourning the dismantling of our National Park System, keep in mind that our State Parks are fantastic and thriving.

A single visit to many CA State Parks is $10 or less, and the Golden Poppy Pass (highly recommend) is just $125/yr. Free passes for kids and select groups are available as well.

And of course, $$$ spent there are $$$ that stay in California.

These are just some of the experiences my Poppy Pass has given me and Evelia recently:

On this May Day, let us remember that it wasn’t the CEOs and billionaires who saved us during COVID-19. It was the janitors, nurses, cleaning crews, grocery and food workers with their hard, often invisible labor.
While male billionaires (Musk, Zuckerberg, Bezos) line up to kiss Trump's ring & sacrifice the integrity of their media publications, Laurene Powell Jobs (owner of The Atlantic) has not & has stood behind the journalism of her publication.

In Praise of Laurene Powell Jobs, Owner of The Atlantic, Superhero of Signalgate

Though a billionaire, The Atlantic owner Laurene Powell Jobs has not found a reason to kiss Trump’s ring and has backed the publication during Signalgate.

French food seems a lot less fancy when you realise that a Croque Monsieur is literally a "Mr. Crunchy".
The world needs more people like Mark Klein, who revealed the NSA's warrantless wiretapping program at AT&T because he felt like he was "plugging in the Big Brother machine." https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2025/03/memoriam-mark-klein-att-whistleblower-about-nsa-mass-spying
In Memoriam: Mark Klein, AT&T Whistleblower Who Revealed NSA Mass Spying

EFF is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mark Klein, a bona fide hero who risked civil liability and criminal prosecution to help expose a massive spying program that violated the rights of millions of Americans.Mark didn’t set out to change the world. For 22 years, he was a...
