On October 25th, University at Buffalo will once again be "welcoming" fascists onto campus.

This year, thanks to the hard work of a coalition of regional groups, we're better prepared!

A series of trainings, and demonstrations have been planned leading up to the main event:

We will be there as well, to provide security in an informal manner for the actions. You wont see us standing out, but we'll be there, ready to act in case the fascists decide to fuck around. We'll let them learn the "Find out" part.

Injury and injustice to some, is an injury and injustice to us all!

Post Action Review for Riley Gaines in #WesternNewYork:

The action at Gaines speaking at a #SUNY institution happened last night. There was a large contingent of protestors present, and #NFJBGC has a few individuals there, to provide a security role in case it was required.

Thankfully, it was not, however, one protestor was arrested at the event, unaffiliated with the NFJBGC. She was released and issued an appearance ticket.

This action was noticeably smaller than the last one, but, we figure that was because Gaines is a much smaller figure, known in fewer circles. And, the UB community was essentially left on its own for response to the fascists arriving this time.

And of course, all the fascists who showed slunk away at the end up the event, hiding their faces, and being confronted with boos from everyone. Just as they should be.

For people wanting to work with us, and for, well, most every activist out there, here's a quick, and short primer on persec while online:

1) Download Tor Browser Bundle, for your OS.
2) While using the Tor Browser, go to either https://protonmail.com or https://riseup.net and create an email address (There's others, but these two are vetted, and trusted for now)
3) Register your social media account using this freshly minted email address (Kolektiva is a great one, but any fediverse server should work).
4) Download Briar on your phone, or signal. Briar is a bit safer, as it doesn't require phone numbers to be exchanged.
5) Trade contacts on Briar or Signal with your affinity group

You have the basic infrastructure now in place to start working, safely.

Some words of advice:

Try to NOT get people's last names, and if possible, don't use actual first names. On your newly protected social media, pick an alias that is pronounceable. "S0xl1ckå" is probably not a good one for a person in the US, for example. "Angry Robin" is though. Try to use that alias whenever working with your affinity group. They should all be doing the same.

Don't take pictures of your affinity group in action. Take pictures of what you did, but not the people who did it.

Wear a mask! Like, just do it! Go with either a plain looking one, or a black bandana. Stay away from easily identifiable ones. Like, don't wear your NY Mets mask at any actions, or your funny Mickey Mouse one. The idea is to look like everyone else, not to stand out.

1) We will never have a twitter account. If you see an account on twitter, purporting to be this group, they are lying.

2) If you're not a big #fediverse user, or just occasionally, we have a mail list you can join (Send an email to [email protected], and you'll be sub'd), that we cross-post content between here, and there. So, you can stay updated via email as well.

3) Everyone working with this group are volunteers. It may take some time for us to respond. If it's been a while and not response from us, reach out again, please!
