When they tried to copyright the law, industry giants lost in court. Now they’re trying to change the law in Congress. Don’t let it happen. https://act.eff.org/action/tell-congress-don-t-let-anyone-own-the-law
Tell Congress: Don't Let Anyone Own The Law

Court after court has recognized that no one can own the text of the law. But the Pro Codes Act is a deceptive power grab that will help giant industry associations ration access to huge swaths of U.S. laws. Tell Congress not to fall for it.

Or a bunch of anti-plague citizens couldn't bring themselves to vote for a pro-genocide candidate. Even in a two-party system, it's overly simplistic to reduce the options to the dispassionate support of one candidate or the other.

Sometimes people simply won't pull the lever to divert the runaway trolley. Not because they think the larger number of victims should die, but because they can't morally participate in system which is inevitably going to crush people for no good reason.

@misomunje @QasimRashid I see what you’re saying. I disagree that Biden should go along with the electorate, purely from a standpoint rooted in empathy. Also, are you saying Biden gets a pass going against the electorate for his son, but not other people? That’s quite unfair.
I wish popular leftists used less sarcasm and more direct criticisms against the right. I think it’d be far more effective. Obviously since everyone has a voice, it’s impossible to control. But if enough people collectively are more direct, I think it might help short term progress.

The democrats cannot suceed without the failure of republicans, they, like the republicans are a party of discontent. If the democrats go further left, they lose voters. If they go right, they lose voters.

They are a hobbling, wobbling, horrible coalition that is unable to permanently suceed or get things done due to corporate ties, interests, and influence. They don’t deserve our support, especially for their history of atrocities. The most they deserve is a vote until we form a new party.

@Bredroll @ikanreed @rebeccawatson it hasn’t happened yet! Hopefully
@Strandjunker the possibility of it is very eloquently put by you
@misomunje @QasimRashid what do you mean they’re debatable?
@wren6991 I hope intel suffers. The more this economy gets unequitable and wrecked, the faster people wake up to the evils of capitalism.
@StevenBarnhart @snowbat @film_girl this convo is crazy. The answer is simple, paywalls are annoying yes, but it’s not rude to post them.
