Dissent is not unpatriotic. Tea drinker, cake baker, remarker of the remarkable, observer of the watchable. Yellowbelly. Miller's moll. European. Earns a living as a wordsmith.
Quite a lot has happened since I was last here. Between us, we’ve had burnout (and recovery), surgery (and 6 weeks off work for recovery), a trip to England to catch up with family and friends, and a slow return to work for both of us. Now catching up on getting ready for summer.
Spent too much time looking at the angry silly people on Twitter generated by the algorithms (apols to those of you on here who are on there too, I don’t mean you).
So what’s been happening?
There’s something not quite right about buying an office chair on a Sunday afternoon.
I saw the motorway shoe this morning. It's that time of year again. #MotorwayShoe
Movement of magnetic north pole over the years
@rajeevmahajan Fingers crossed! I’m almost free of symptoms, so can go out masked soon (Dutch regs here). Just very weary now.
@halcionandon You’re here - that matters. And if the sandwich was good, then that’ll do, because small self-kindnesses count. Sending greetings and warm wishes (socially distanced tho - I’m on Day 5 of spectacularly badly timed Covid). 😷
@riddsteve M&W, great choice!
@consulessa I’m on Day 5, feeling almost normal again but still in isolation. Lost ALL my sense of taste yesterday so do go ahead and eat as much as you can of the delicious stuff now because by Tuesday you won’t appreciate it at all! Hope your Covid is as swift as mine appears to be 😷
@Jodieohdoh Aaargh! Hope your veggies have the patience to wait for the turkey without ruining themselves! #BonAp #JoinIn
@ClaireCopperman @jonreed I’ve been so hungry! Prepped an emergency chicken, carrots, parsnips and roast potatoes in the oven while the other half was outside - mask on, extractor fan going full bifters and kitchen windows open. Left it in there for a couple of hours, defrosted some red cabbage and gravy in the microwave. I’m sure it’s delish but I can’t taste a sodding thing.
