The British public seem averse to the reality that covid is still a thing to be wary of, let alone the potential life altering consequences of it.

Him facing consequences for crimes such as raping under age girls isn't being "purity tested."

@cstross Ah, she's sniping because she wants a go. (I'm nodding now so it must be true.)
(My kitto preferred to drape her self over my hands/arms, all the better to incapacitate me.)
I hate the slow screen blackout that happens about 10 times in every movie trailer. A couple I can understand, fair enough, but then there's the horrendous overuse that goes 0.5 sec movie -- slow blackout -- 0.5 sec movie -- slow blackout x 6.
I loathe this with a passion that knows no bounds!
#writerscoffeeclub Jan 25. What comes first: setting, character, plot? What comes next?
Sometimes a title arrives in my mind and it demands I write a story that goes with it.

We will have coders who are really good at applied statistics; a lot of cheap GPUs, good for effects artists and climate scientists, #opensource models that run on commodity hardware, #AI tools that can do transcribing audio and video; describing images; summarizing documents; automating image editing. These will run on our laptops and phones in ways their makers never dreamed of.

Name a poem that's influenced you...
Not really a poem, but it's a song from Rammstein called Dalai Lama from their Reise, Reise album.
The line in particular: "wir muss am Leben bis wir sterben" or in English "we must live until we die" (or thereabouts.)
That particular line has stuck with me to the point I think about it almost every day. Also the line: The father presses the soul out of the child.
I just found out the UK govt is taking active steps to enact a fascist dystopia.
They want to age verify VPNs and make encrypted communications a hostile act.
We need to act!
