* setting all my preferences and my profile up identically
* re-posting my pinned posts
And by 30 minutes, I mean, over a year! Because I've been meaning to move from the under-supported and rarely updated mastodon.cloud server for ages.

It's hard to convey how barrier breaking (and not in a good way) this directive is. Weather and climate is one of the most functioning parts of the UN. We have always collaborated internationally, simply because weather does not respect national borders. Even during the Cold War the US and Russia shared weather observations and sat on joint committees.
To be told not to work with "foreign nationals" is almost to be told to "stop doing your job"
