One of the largest publications in Brazil, A Folha do Sao Paulo, stops short of calling it a coup. The opinion, which spends quite a bit of review of the USian system of governance, tells readers about the abdication of the legislative body, "São legisladores com medo de ser cancelados pelo presidente e perder em primárias nas próximas eleições. (They are legislators who fear being cancelled by the president and primaried in the next elections)." The author, Patricia Campos Mello, tells readers about Vance's comments that the courts have no right to limit the power of the executive branch. But short of calling it a coup, she says it is up to the people of the United States to decide whether the Overton Window needs to slide back - "Mas será que os americanos estão prontos para um regime pré-monarquista, em que um Executivo superpoderoso desdenha dos tribunais, e, em vez de recorrer, descumpre ordens judiciais?
Desta vez, o preço de escancarar a janela de Overton pode ser uma crise constitucional. (But will it be that the USian people are ready for a pre-monarchical regime in which the all-powerful executive branch ignores the courts and, instead of appealing, ignores judicial orders? This time, the price of throwing open the Overton Window could be a Constitutional crisis. )"
