@claudiom another option your buddy could consider is https://0patch.com/ I ran it on a couple old Windows 7 systems after they were EOL. And I plan to use them again on Windows 10.
Their pricing is reasonable and the agent footprint is small.

@gnyman I’ve used them before on a handful of Windows 7 machines a few years ago. The product worked great. I’ll probably use them again when Win 10 goes EOL.
Please post what you find. I’ve been using NextDNS for years and have been happy with them. But, I’m always interested in alternatives. 😉
