No “President” has a right to strip citizenship and deport people who challenge his policies. That’s fascism, not America.
They are trying to deport to #libya, a move designed so that migrants will never be heard from again. We need to go on the streets for this madness. #news #Politics
The AI bubble is a stunningly designed grift. Here's a machine that promises to automate the alienation of labor for knowledge workers, built on their past work, marketed to a buying class who has none of the skills to evaluate the output of these tools or the talent they promise replace.

The Wikimedia Foundation, which owns Wikipedia, says its bandwidth costs have gone up 50% since Jan 2024 — a rise they attribute to AI crawlers.

AI companies are killing the open web by stealing visitors from the sources of information and making them pay for the privilege

Fuck I love Mastodon! No other platform has ever given me as a Blind person such access to the public sphere as I've gotten today from alt text of protests in the United States. Thanks to all you gorgeous folk for demonstrating that inclusion matters, cause it sure does to me!

This quote about Republicans is as true today as when Harry Truman said it in 1948:

“They approve of the American farmer — but they are willing to help him go broke. They stand four-square for the American home — but not for housing. They are strong for labor — but they are stronger for restricting labor's rights. They favor a minimum wage — the smaller the minimum the better. They endorse educational opportunity for all — but they won't spend money for teachers or for schools... (1/2)

OK, from the replies, some useful tidbits:

- To end a Tesla lease early, you don’t have to pay the full amount remaining — only the balance •minus• the car’s current resale value.

- Cars depreciate, so you’ll lose some money. But…

- …if the used market is dropping fast, Tesla’s official resale value will probably lag behind reality. Thus breaking a lease actually •can• take money straight out of Tesla’s pockets.

- To maximize this strategy, people should break their leases •soon• and •simultaneously•. Coordinate a campaign!

Would still really, really, really like somebody with professional expertise to work all this out.

I’m really serious about that previous post: we need an expert guide to breaking a Tesla lease. What are the options? What are the costs? What are the tradeoffs? How should one go about it? I am not even close to having anything like the expertise to answer these questions. But if someone out there •is• an expert, I would love to help you write up, format, and distribute a guide. This could matter. Lots of people out there just feel sick about driving a Tesla, desperately want out of their lease. The right information could unleash something formidable. #TeslaTakedown
