@marcoarment I’m looking into using Blackbird in a SwiftUI app I’m working on. Do you have any additional examples of using it with SwiftUI, other than the readme on GitHub? Specifically I’m trying to figure out how to make a BlackbirdLiveModel into a binding, so I can edit fields in the UI.

I’m sure I’m missing something obvious, but an example would probably clear things up.

Has anyone had luck using #SwiftData when your model has a custom structure as an attribute? This seems to be broken for me on beta 5, and I haven't found any workarounds online.

Hot take I know, but the Barbie movie is really fantastic
I'm selling my 1969 VW bug, electric conversion. I'm sad to sell it, but I don't want to keep a car that I don't use. I don't have a garage for it in Truckee, CA, and living in snow-country under a car cover isn't doing it good. Let me know if you know someone who might like this car! I'm happy to give someone mechanically inclined a good deal on it. https://www.corbinstreehouse.com/blog/2023/06/for-sale-the-plug-bug-1969-vw-beetle-electric-conversion/

A pal is electrifying his vintage VW bug. I would be more insanely jealous if I didn’t get to help :)

After our trip to Europe, I’m seriously considering getting an e-bike. Pretty sure I can handle the majority of my errands in Alameda, and could even get to Oakland if I take one of the bridges. (The tube has a scary unusable excuse for a bike lane)

Unfortunately getting to work on it would be pretty hard, due to the lack of bike lanes in Bay Area bridges.

Ideally I’d get one that my wife could ride with me on…

So, talk me out of getting a Tern GSD.

…They aren’t appreciating the art. It feels like they are just collecting the fact of being there, without ever actually being present.

Maybe it’s so they can print them out at home? But the quality will be horrible.

I think it’s just to post on social media, to prove that they were there.

What a waste.

Is this what getting old feels like? I would say something about those damn kids with their phones, but it was people older than me too.

We’ve spent some wonderful times these past few days exploring art museums in Paris. The museums and artwork is absolutely wonderful. But wow does it make me dislike other people!

So many people with their phones out… doing nothing but walking from painting to painting, snapping pictures. Stepping in the way, sighing loudly when I have the gall to stand and look at a painting, and get in their shot….

I just don’t get it. (Cont….)

There’s a great post for the supernerds in the room that goes into the nature of “dithering” and even explains the algorithmic nudges Atkinson Dithering uses to achieve its distinctive look: https://surma.dev/things/ditherpunk/

These days, dithering is usually encountered as an affectation or an artifact; we’ve got ridiculously high res deep color displays on our *wrists*. Back in the 80s when Atkinson was doing some of his most memorable work, though, it was the cutting edge of image display optimization.

I always loved the visual aesthetic of dithering but never knew how it’s done. So I did some research. This article may contain traces of nostalgia and none of Lena.
