ACT covid reinfection rates most likely show a reporting bias where people who are infected multiple times stop testing or stop reporting.

It's very unlikely that this data reflects the true portion of infections that are first time vs repeated infections.

Latest COVID-19 surge is mostly infecting Australians who have not had the disease before

Only one-in-five recently detected cases are reinfections, which suggests a past infection is a good defence against prevailing strains.

I am moving from frustration to anger now that ATAGI are not allowing those of us early adopters that had our 4th dose well over 6 months ago not to have access to a bivalent 5th dose. Come on already! If it's to be personal responsibility, let us make that choice in this time of Omicron variants. @Atagiletusprotectourselves

My spreadsheet of #COVID19 studies showing longer-term damage to the body has grown to 100 studies. Here's a link and a thread of some of the most interesting. The conclusion is that COVID can attack many parts of the body, remain present in the body, increase risks of serious cardiovascular, brain, lung and immune system disorders, and increase risk of death and disability. Stop taking it so lightly!

“Do your own research” has become such a pejorative and loaded expression, but the sad fact is that if you have complex health conditions, if you don’t do your own research, you don’t get help. Especially if you’re a woman.

“When I caught COVID, I thought I'd get back to normal. I was wrong”

Long COVID made me an advocate for myself as symptoms were ignored with treatments hard to access

Long COVID made me retreat from the world, entering into the realm of invisible illnesses where sufferers are ignored, dismissed and struggle to find the help they need.

If we don’t stand up for the #HumanRights of people in countries other than that we live in we’re not standing up for our own & our children’s human rights.

What happens to others could -in the blink of an eye- happen to you.

Don’t shrug your shoulder & say not my business.

Every little helps. Even a simple ‘no’ in a conversation with someone who expresses acceptance of human rights violations in people they consider as different or ‘foreigners’.

Please mask. In public places. In rooms with anyone you don’t live with. At work. On public transport. At shows. Mask wherever you can, with P2/N95 or equivalent. This thing isn’t over, and we are all at risk.
Please boost if you’re still masking indoors (in public places)

We stand united against covid & the minimisers & support those that have been isolated. Australia in the last 7 days - over 88k new cases, 123 direct deaths. These can be avoided by masking up & isolating when sick.

Many fellow Australians have had to shelter where they live because the measures needed to keep them safe have been dropped entirely.

Masks are needed in public spaces, particularly those with inadequate ventilation. Good ventilation is needed to ensure covid is not in the air we breathe. If you are sick, isolate and test to stop it spreading.

Be considerate and remember not everyone maybe as healthy as you. We need to do better.

Just returned home from attending the #CBR #VigilAgainstCovid. So great to meet @criprights @CraigWtweets & @_Nic_Lee in person.
We recognised & paid homage to the 16k+ victims of acute COVID plus those living with long COVID.
Please listen to our voice @AlboMP & help us.
Today #VigilAgainstCOVID - we mourned the deaths of 16,000 Australians in Canberra. We are also fighting the isolation of the living at the Australian Parliament. This has to stop.
