If we don’t stand up for the #HumanRights of people in countries other than that we live in we’re not standing up for our own & our children’s human rights.

What happens to others could -in the blink of an eye- happen to you.

Don’t shrug your shoulder & say not my business.

Every little helps. Even a simple ‘no’ in a conversation with someone who expresses acceptance of human rights violations in people they consider as different or ‘foreigners’.

@nisreen The poem ''First they came' (supposedly by Martin Niemoeller) summarizes it best. Should be in the curriculum of every child, every student around the globe.
Save our rights

The UK government are officially scrapping our Human Rights Act. Now more than ever we need to come together in the fight to save our rights. Take action to save our rights - before it's too late.

@nisreen yes. And if it did happen in our own country we could well find others stand up for us no more than we did for them. Always best to stand for others, if for no better reason than because we might need their help one day. "Do as you would be done by."
@nisreen I totally agree that every human should be treated with dignity and be afforded basic rights— but not because I could lose my rights, but because of our shared humanity. That applies to people from other countries as you say, it includes the LGBTQI community, it includes people with convictions, it includes people with disabilities, it includes every woman.. it includes all humans.
@nisreen I agree it's all of our business.
@nisreen sadly where we used to look at wrong stuff occurring in other countries we need to look at our own country b/c like you said it can happen to us as well
@nisreen
Thanks for creating the wareness
It's so much pleasure

We deserve our rights and freedom
