@arstechnica recently just built my new rig, equivalent to the "comfortable 4K gaming rig" here but with a 9800X3D instead
and yeah, cyberpunk 2077 everything ultra + path tracing. i get a stable 160 fps with only 2x framegen at 1080p (my monitor is only 1080p, 144hz)
i could easily trade off some visual quality (and crank up the DLSS MFG) for good 4k performance at high refresh rates!
...when i get a new monitor. it's hard to find a good gaming monitor that also has a USB-C DP alt mode and power delivery (and ideally KVM) for use from my macbook!
