Hey fediverse,

I know you like Ghost CMS, the best open-source publishing software for independent content creators. I have a good news for you:

I built a very fast yet very affordable fully managed Ghost hosting service, https://www.synapsmedia.com Give it a try, its free for 14 days!

I enjoyed optimizing a #CSS image slider and writing about the process too. 😊 https://muratcorlu.com/pure-css-background-image-slides/
Pure CSS background image slides

Sliding photos in the background with nice transitions can be done with pure CSS, without sacrificing anything.

Web Development Notes
I’m observing traffic across approximately 30 low-traffic Ghost websites that I host, and these are the most frequently visited URLs by unidentified bots over the past month. Most of these bots appear to be probing for vulnerabilities, and it’s noteworthy that nearly all the URLs are PHP files.

My screen time went crazy.

I've had a lot of questions over the last few weeks about how Ghost is going to avoid ending up in the same situation as WordPress.

A lot of trust in open source has been broken.

So, I spent some time writing up how we structure and think about business, governance, open source, community, and ecosystems more broadly.

I certainly don't think we've got it all figured out — but I think our model is especially relevant at this particular moment in time.

I’m really proud of this article on Masonry & CSS.

It was incredibly hard to write. We spent weeks writing and rewriting, digging deeper & deeper into the issues at hand, working to make things as easy to understand as possible.

There’s also a really cool idea about how to add another new feature to CSS Grid. (It would make it super easy to create a common article layout that’s not easy today.)

I can’t wait to hear what you think.

Back in April 2024, we wrote about “Masonry” layout in CSS and the ongoing work to bring this feature to browsers.

Once again, I forgot to cancel a free trial and it ended up costing me €30. Learning is too expensive!
It is so disturbing to see this happens in The Netherlands, today in the Eindhoven Marathon. #marathon #Eindhoven #racism
This is so weird.
