I'm absolutely certain that no Republican would have any problem with a liberal SCOTUS Justice accepting dozens of trips, private flights and other benefits from wealthy people who bring cases before SCOTUS. Right?
This is an excellent time to be skeptical consumers of legal takes and be cautious about both Trumpist pseudo-legal disinformation and Resistance pseudo-legal wishcasting.

You should be angry at how easy it is to buy a Supreme Court Justice

You should be angrier at how cheap it is:

Meet Clarence Thomas’ RV.

A Prevost Le Mirage XL Marathon paid for by Anthony Welters—A man who made his fortune preventing you from getting health care.

Remember when Sinead had the ovaries to tear up a picture of the Pope to condemn the church's cover of sex abuse, and the world was all, "That's ridiculous Sinead!" and then blamed the trans and gay community for hurting children even as the church abused and raped tens of thousands of children?

Yeah, it doesn't matter, nobody's gonna fucking read this. Will probably give up on Mastodon.

Here’s my big announcement!

As a human rights lawyer, I’ve spent my career supporting DV survivors, asylum seekers, and demanding economic, social, and climate justice.

I’m running for U.S. Congress in the district I grew up in because these crises are getting worse—and justice can’t wait.

On July 5, 1852, Frederick Douglass delivered his greatest speech, "What to the Slave is the 4th of July?" Resonating with principles of freedom & equality, this speech was a powerful indictment of American hypocrisy & moral decay, as a nation simultaneously celebrated freedom while it enslaved millions. He compelled white Americans to confront the inherent moral contradictions in their society or face dire consequences.

59 years ago, Pres. Johnson signed the 1964 Civil Rights Act, shaping America as we know it today. 60 years ago, everyday activities like dining, hotels, & public trans were pockmarked by segregation & discrimination. This Act is the most comprehensive civil rights legislation since Reconstruction, & we owe it all to the tireless efforts of ordinary citizens in the American civil rights movement.
