Mostly political content here though

US has failed to get their regime change in Iran. Iran's leadership does have contingency unlike what US,Israel thought. The people of Iran are going to pay a heavy price. Israel will do their usual act of razing cities. But Iran will also bleed the US and Israel military, and US,Israel will have to leave eventually without achieving their stated objectives.

This war was stupid from day 1. What was the plan really?

There’s a discussion happening about if we should get rid of spec explainers & I just want folks to know that this is a real sentence that exists in the HTML spec

“A close watcher closeWatcher is active if closeWatcher's window's close watcher manager contains any list which contains closeWatcher.”

Lol they cancelled the previous election results in Romania, and redoing the election after banning the winner.

Democracy, people! It's a Democracy!

I've nerdsniped myself into finding faster approximation of cube root (needed for Lab #color space)

- polynomial approximations alone are not sufficient for x < 0.2. Not even big ones, blended, nor Padé.
- bit-twiddling tricks don't vectorize, and/or need exp2 that is expensive itself.

In the end I've found that a simple polynomial + 2× Halley's Rational Method is unbeatable. Precise. Autovectorizes nicely. 2.5× faster than std. 5× faster in batches of four.

Thankful that ad blockers exist. Else websites are so shite these days.

GTM (100+ kb of JS btw) + FB pixel + tiktok + snapchat trackers + hotjar + affiliate marketing trackers etc etc

This is why everyone should minimize downloading apps and use the web. There were leaks like these in the past as well (notable for me was Sygic app).

Also on Android work profile apps can be frozen (via shelter or island app). Once frozen it disappears from app list, and you bring it back only when you need it. I recommend setting that up.
