Oxide and Friends | Heterogeneous Computing with Raja Koduri

Raja Koduri joined Bryan and Adam to answer a question sent in from a listener: what's are the differences between a CPU, GPU, FPGA, and ASIC? And after a walk through history of hardware, software, their intersection and relevant companies, we ... almost answered it!

Well said Katie! Once we realize a piece of software is mission critical, it's too late to bolt on security after the fact! Oxide and Friends | CrowdStrike BSOD Fiasco with Katie Moussouris

Bryan and Adam were joined by security expert, Katie Moussouris, to discuss the largest global IT outage in history. It's a history of women in science as seen through the lense of women at MIT.

It's incredible, and also really, REALLY hard.

I don't think I have ever yelled FUCK YOU more times at a book in my life.

Sometimes, as a guy, it's easy to hear people talk about "the patriarchy" and see it as an abstract idea. It SO isn't, and this book will grind that lesson into your brain with all the painful ferocity we men deserve.

You might not think water is a big issue in Hawaii -- but fresh water is a precious and constrained resource on these islands. Big farming companies have taken water rights from Natives -- and this also impacts the diverse ecologies where fresh water flows to the sea.

Hard fought political fights won some of those rights back in the 90s-- but now those same companies are using the fire as an excuse to roll back the clock.

I see mention on the GAIA web site [G] that @avi is involved with, that the tides can affect the Internet service. This is something that we see in our remote wireless networks in Scotland too. This interesting phenomenon is worth a thread.

Here is is such a thread... (1/n)

I'm truly heartbroken. Life is full of distractions, but don't let them stop you from telling the people you love how much they mean to you. 💔

We support the OpenTF efforts to assure an open source Terraform. Like other signatories, our preference is for HashiCorp to revert to MPLv2 for Terraform -- but we support a fork if it is the only path to keeping Terraform open source. Our full statement:
