@gre @da_667 They set a slamhound on Elons trail in Starbase Texas, slotted it to his pheromones and the smirk on his face. It caught up with him on the street and came scrambling for his ridiculous cybertruck. Its core was a kilogram of recrystallised hexagene and TNT.

@gregeganSF Just recently, on a Pixel phone, my keyboard stopped auto capitalising AI. Before I would type ai and it would have AI in the suggestions. Now no matter how many times I type it there's no suggestion. The only reason I can imagine is to make it slightly less easy to kvetch about AI online.
@Gargron When they say LLMs can replace artists what they mean is, "We have enough art now. The sum total of art we have is sufficient. Remixing and blending the corpus of art will be good enough forever. If not we can just tap some humans afflicted with the artist disease to generate some more, and it will be cheaper! They'll do it for free! Fools."
@metaning I think you're right, especially because they were covered in nicotine. Most likely they sat in a shed for years where some old codger smoked himself to death.
They are mostly size 20 which is small, about 600ml. I've been canning fruit every day recently, pears, apricots and peaches, from the garden or the side of the road. These are the right size for jam or stock which I might make later in the dressing season, or maybe tomato passata if there are cheap tomatoes on the market this year.
I found a couple crates of preserving jars at the local dump. For over a century this town has been burying rubbish in big holes in a nearby piece of land and if you're quick you can find treasures. These are Fowler's Vacola jars which is an Australian standard preserving system. Unlike Ball jars the lids have a rim that goes over the lip of the jar. The rubber seal is a band that fits in a groove and the lid is held on during preserving with a spring clip.
