I just saw Stephen Fry cross my federated timeline, so I want to take a moment to remind people that despite being such a delightful man in most things, he has a long history of transphobia that he has never addressed or apologized for.

This includes expressed support for J.K. Rowling.

I’ve boosted lots of info about CWs this week. I’ve also seen CWs weaponized against BIPOC and other marginalized folks, so want to clarify:

White ppl, it’s racist to ask BIPOC to CW racism. Racism CWs are Not For You. (Same goes for other axes of discrimination. If you’re holding the privilege, STFU.)

It’s not ok to harass/confront people about CWs. Just move along. You have tools to curate your feed.

I will boost marginalized voices on this issue. Feel free to unfollow/block me for that. 👋

The metatext app for mastodon has an ‘extract text from image’ button in the alt-text entry screen so you can edit/correct as you go!

I’m calling this thread here, look within for a quick snapshot view of the pros and cons of 17 different options for accessing #Mastodon on your #iPhone with #MastodoniOSApp. i am disabling push notifications for all but my faves, but will keep the ones that Work on my phone for a little while if people have questions! I hope this helps some #NewToMastodon folks get set up. please let me know if I’m wrong on anything and uhhh i will not be repeating this experiment!

Last one! #Mercury was last updated two years ago and new ones don’t seem to be coming. I love the app icon customization and having the #TransFlag in my icon. It says in app purchases on the App Store but all the paid features are extra icons or access to “trending” tags. Supports scheduling toots! The dealbreaker for me was that there was no option to block or report in app. Combine that with clunky navigation and #MercuryApp isn’t for me. 24/n

#B4X gets eliminated from my personal running because I cannot figure out how to add more accounts nor #AltText. It’s my least favorite aesthetically, but for a single account that doesn’t post images and doesn’t need alt text it might be fine? It’s definitely a #MastodoniOSApp that Works, so that’s great. I love seeing my tags bookmarked on the sidebar clearly. 23/n
