Gezichtsherkenning in supermarkten, voetbalstadions, tijdens demonstraties...

Most people, when they think "reef", think of corals. That might be because that is the only one they heard about, as we lost many of the oyster #reef systems that used to dot the European coastline.

Wow, today I discovered William Morris's Kelmscott Press. Many books published by the press were plain, but some of them were *spectacularly* illustrated. All of these images are from the Wikipedia page about the press (but the ALT descriptions are by yours truly):

@cstross 2/2 Future histories would have words like "subprime mortality" and "underwater survival rate". Hopefully they don't sell off the mortality overhang debt to sketchy collection agencies.)

* No, it wouldn't. Financial crises are only ever fun for entities that are too big to fail.

@cstross upshot: GLP-1 agonists improve the biomarkers that life insurers use to gauge someone's health. This is currently creating a bit of an epistemological crisis for the life insurers, because their fine-tuned prediction models suddenly stop working.

(It would be a hoot* if this industry were heavily leveraged with exotic financial instruments, and the uncertainty triggered the next GFC.
